Koumansetta Rainfordi - Glory Goby

The Koumansetta Rainfordi, also known as the Court Jester Goby or Old Glory Goby, is a small and colorful fish native to the tropical reefs of the western Pacific Ocean. This species typically reaches a length of about 8.5 cm (3.3 inches) and is known for its vibrant coloration and playful behavior.

In the wild, the Court Jester Goby inhabits sandy and muddy bottoms of coral reefs, usually at depths of 2 to 30 meters (6.6 to 98.4 feet). They are often found grazing on algae and tiny invertebrates. In an aquarium setting, they require a well-established tank with plenty of live rock and sand to provide grazing opportunities and hiding places.

These gobies are generally peaceful and can be kept with other small, non-aggressive fish. However, they are known to be expert jumpers, so a tight-fitting cover is essential. They thrive in water temperatures of 23-27°C (73-81°F) and require gradual lighting changes to avoid startling them.

The Koumansetta Rainfordi is a delightful addition to any reef aquarium, bringing both color and character to the tank.
