Pomacanthus Maculosus

Pomacanthus maculosus, or Yellowbar angelfish, is known for its striking juvenile coloration of black and blue stripes, which transforms into a solid blue with a prominent yellow bar and intricate patterns as it matures.

This hermaphroditic species exhibits aggressive behavior, particularly towards other angelfish and is not considered reef-safe, as adults primarily consume sponges and tunicates, occasionally nibbling on corals.

To maintain their health and reduce aggression, provide a varied diet rich in both algae and meaty foods, but be prepared for potential coral damage if kept in a mixed tank.
