Stylophora Pistillata - Green / Yellow  Polyp - M-size

The Green Stylophora Coral is a small polyp stony (SPS) coral commonly referred to as Cat's Paw, Club Finger, Cluster, Brush, or Bird's Nest Coral. It has rounded branches with blunt ends that differentiate it from other closely-related SPS corals. The Green Stylophora Coral boasts a beautiful Green coloration and is able to adapt to many different lighting and water flow regimes in the aquarium.

The Green Stylophora Coral prefers moderate to high lighting conditions achieved by T-5 fluorescent, powerful LED, or the more intense metal halide light fixtures. For best care, it is imperative to maintain high water quality for your Green Stylophora Coral, ensuring proper pH, alkalinity, and calcium levels while keeping phosphate and nitrate levels as close to zero as possible. Along with proper lighting and water quality, the Green Stylophora Coral will benefit from strong, intermittent water flow within the aquarium. This can be easily achieved with the addition of powerheads, wavemakers, or water circulation pumps.

The Green Stylophora Coral satisfies the majority of its nutritional requirements by means of photosynthetic, symbiotic zooxanthellae algae hosted within its body. However, it will benefit from supplemental feedings in the form of micro-plankton, brine shrimp, and other foods designed for filter feeding invertebrates. For continued good health, your Green Stylophora Coral will also benefit from the addition of calcium, magnesium, strontium, and other trace elements to the water.

The Green Stylophora Coral is mounted to a natural "rock-like" plug that can be placed easily and securely in or between rockwork in the reef aquarium.
